Saint Dominic's Robotics is a student-led organization, under the Saint Dominic's International School for grades 9 to 12 students to design, build, and program robots to compete in international competitions such as the VEX Robotics World Championship, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC).
These programs inspire innovation, leadership, and collaboration while opening doors to scholarships, grants, and global recognition. Students gain skills in engineering, programming, CAD, project management, and public speaking while also taking on roles in media, outreach, and strategy. With inclusivity at its core, SD Robotics offers opportunities for every type of learner—introverts and extroverts, technical minds and creative thinkers alike.
The initiative strengthens SDIS’s reputation as the first Portuguese IB school to compete internationally, positioning the school community at the forefront of global STEM education. Mentors and teachers guide students in safety, engineering, and leadership, while the school supports facilities, governance, and fundraising. Outreach extends the impact beyond the classroom—through school demos, STEM workshops, and partnerships with universities, local industry, and community events.
More than just robots, SD Robotics builds curiosity, teamwork, resilience, and global engagement—empowering students to become changemakers prepared to shape the future.
